Specifically, we offer nitrous oxide or “laughing gas” to our patients who experience nerves when seeing the dentist. This means that you can physically and mentally relax. Through oral sedation dentistry, we can greatly reduce the stress some feel during a dental visit.

Nitrous Oxide Sedation

At Rite Smile Dental, we recommend nitrous oxide sedation to our anxious patients. This is a simple way to help alleviate anxiety, and it produces no lasting effects. We lightly settle a mask over your nose and allow you to breathe in the nitrous oxide, or “laughing gas.”

This odorless gas produces a warm, soothing sensation throughout your body, which will allow you to settle in and feel much more relaxed. It’s like being wrapped in a blanket of calm. When your procedure is over and we remove the mask, it’s only a matter of a few minutes before the effect wears off and you can go about your day.
