More About Preventative Dental Services
To prevent any unwanted tooth decay or oral issues, it is important to practice preventative dental care. This includes eating a balanced diet as well as brushing your teeth twice a day and flossing. Routine check-ups every six months or so for professional teeth cleaning is also important.
Learn more and ask your dentist about sealants, flouride, X-rays and oral cancer screenings to go the extra step in practicing preventative care for your teeth.
Oral Cancer Screening
As a dental office, it’s part of our job to be on the alert for any oral health issues. Oral cancer is just one of many problems we keep out a sharp eye for. Innovations in technology allow us to do this more effectively than ever.
To screen for signs of cancer, we use a light that detects unhealthy tissue, which will reflect darker. Early detection dramatically increases our ability to successfully treat cancer, making this screening a vital and lifesaving process.
Dental X-Rays
Dental X-rays are essential in helping us deal effectively with many oral health issues. They allow us to find and diagnose problems accurately, as well as to provide valuable information about your teeth, gums, and jaw—information which is not visible to the naked eye.
With this extremely accurate look inside your mouth, we can create an effective and personalized treatment plan specifically for you.
We use dental X-rays because detecting and treating problems as early as possible means saving you time, money, and pain. Ultimately, x-ray technology helps give you an optimal dental experience.
Sealants
Sealants are a thin, insulating layer (generally made from plastic resin) that sticks to the chewing surface of your back teeth and smooths them out. Sealants help to prevent cavities by providing extra protection against decay. They bond and harden in the deep areas of your tooth’s surface. When sealed, you are less likely to accumulate plaque.
Fluoride
Fluoride is a powerful mineral that helps to prevent tooth decay. It makes the tooth enamel more resistant to any acids that may attack it. It has the potential to reverse any early decay. There are two varities of fluoride. The first is called systematic fluoride which is found in public water supply. The second type is a fluoride that is applied topically on your teeth. It is found in toothpaste, mouthwash and other professional supplies used by dentists.
We strive to...

Insurance & Billing
Dental insurance is intended to cover some, but not all of the cost of your dental care. Most plans include a co-payment, and deductible which must be paid by the patient at the time of service. Insurance coverage is not, and never has been, a guideline for quality care. We accept most PPO insurances. Please contact our friendly staff to learn more about your insurance and billing options.
